Basic commands used on Command Prompt

  1. Show contents of a folder using dir

2. Go to another directory by changing the directory path using cd

3. Create a text file using echo

4. Read a file using more or type

5. Clear terminal screen using cls

6. Create a folder using mkdir

7. Delete a folder using rmdir

8. Delete a file using del

9. Check the current logged in user using whoami

10. Check the hostname of the system using hostname

11. Link two commands using &&

12. Check all running tasks using tasklist

13. Stop or ‘kill’ task using taskkill

14. Check for all users in the Windows System using net user

15. Check for the user if a member of the administrator group using administrators
